Sarah’s Key by Tatiana De Rosnay is a book of fiction that reads like a true story . I felt the author Tatiana De Rosnay did a superb job at writing this book. She took a not so well know history of France and made it relevant in a very tasteful way. This event was used for the book’s base but the characters where fiction. I had a hard time at the beginning ( I know very little about France) of this book but I am thankful that I completed this book. I would have missed out on a great story that will not leave me anytime soon. You will meet Sarah as a Jewish child in France July of 1942. A good majority of the book the chapters are from her point of view and from this time period fast forward sixty years and you will meet the next important character Julia Jarmond an American journalist that has been living in France for twenty five years. I did find this book a bit predictable in some aspects but I found that to be ok because the end of the book made me very happy. I give this book 3 stars. I rate the books I read on a system of one star being the worst and five stars being the best. I must say I did like it so that I rented the movie and felt that the movie did not do justice to the story. The book was so much better. If you have seen the movie do yourself a favor and get this book because it is so much better.
