I just finished When the Heart Cries by Cindy Woodsmall. I liked this book but it made me sad. There is a forbidden romance, a crime, secrets and shatter lives in this book. This could be a Lifetime movie. I was sad by how this family was affected by a crime that was not the fault of the main character Hanna Lapp. I was amazed as to how Hanna struggled with real life feelings. I found that I appreciated the author wrote this and did not gloss over what would be real feelings of a crime victim. I found my self in tears at times in this book. Cindy Woodsmall made me feel so for Hanna Lapp that I could not put this book down even with the tears. I still found that this was a heart felt book. I love the look it gives me into the Amish faith. This is the first book in a series and I can not wait to read book two in this series Sisters of the Quilt. My advice to those who read this you can not put it down so make sure you have time to read this when you start this. I give this book 5 stars.
